Have you ever wondered about Eastern spirituality? Have you experienced the beauty of silence? Are you moved by compassion and love towards all beings? Have you ever tried to meditate? If any of these questions appeal to you, please come to join us in this course which will provide an introduction to some of the most important Buddhist concepts, emphasizing their usefulness for Buddhist and non-Buddhists alike. We also will study and demonstrate various meditative techniques to allow each student to develop their own meditative practice.

The classes will be held on Saturday morning twice a month from September 2017 to April 2018. The classes will consist of a one hour talk followed by another hour of discussion. There will be an optional 1/2 hour of meditation preceding each class, as well as an optional discussion during lunch (lunch is $12) after the class. A suggested reading list will be provided, but no reading will be mandatory.

There will be a retreat at the end of the series, Thursday April 19, 2018 to Sunday April 22, 2018, at an additional cost.
