Mariandale Hosts Trike-a-Thon
On a beautiful Saturday morning in June, 25 youngsters between the ages of 3 and 9 assembled in the
Mariandale parking lot for a Trike-a-Thon to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  The idea for the event came from a 6-year-old Ossining boy named William Field,
who saw an ad for St. Jude’s on TV. 
“I felt sad,” he said, “and I wanted to help them buy medicines and wigs for when their hair falls out.” 
With his mother Robyn’s help, he recruited friends and classmates, and
they collected donor pledges totaling more than $2000.
