Parables: Stories to Change Ourselves and the World

Jesus used storytelling in the form of parables to teach us about God’s reign: what it means and how we are to live, and to help bring about God’s reign in our world. The parables are meant to shake us out of our usual way of seeing things in order to help us see as God sees, to see ourselves, others, our world and life itself through God’s eyes, so that we might be more effective in helping to bring about the kind of world God desires for us.

This silent, guided retreat invites us to open ourselves to the challenge of the parables–a challenge that will undoubtedly change us and how we live, witnessing to Christ in whom “we all live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)
