Dominican Sisters of Hope and the Center at Mariandale

Land Justice Statement:

We, the Dominican Sisters of Hope and The Center at Mariandale, acknowledge this land on which we stand as gift of the Great Spirit’s creation and the ancestral home of the Lenape people. These indigenous people lived in the Hudson Valley for millennia before the European settlers came. They built a relationship to earth, and cared for creation’s gift on this land we know today as Mariandale.

We recognize the tragic and destructive legacy of violence, racism, and colonialism that forced their removal from this land.  We commit ourselves to the unfinished work of healing and justice that is our mandate.
