We are mindful of the close connection and comfort that the center provides to our community, and wish to reinforce that bond in these challenging times. Social distancing can be isolating and strange.
While in-person programming is temporarily suspended, we are looking at ways to provide listening and discussion through technology platforms, like Zoom. Using Zoom allows a presenter to convene a meeting that you can join through a web link. You can choose to participate using a computer webcam/tablet or by simply calling in on the phone. We invite you to join us in this exciting new venture with your presence and your thoughts!
Join us for a new twist on our Thursday Contemplative Prayer sessions, held in an online community setting, while the center is temporarily closed. These are held at the same time as our on-site Contemplative Prayer (11:30am on Thursdays), and led by Gaynell Cronin. We ask that you join the group at 11:25am so we can all start on time. Please get started by completing this form with your name and email address. You will receive an email with a Zoom link, meeting ID, and a phone numbers, so that you can join by computer or by phone. We’ll be there to support and help you!
You’re invited to a public listening session this Saturday, April 4, at 4pm (EST) via Zoom. (Participants may join via phone or video.) These are challenging, uncertain times. We invite you to join in a community and bring your fears, your hopes, your gratitude, your restlessness, or whatever you’ve got while we process together. We’re here to hold each other.
First step is to visit this Dominican Sisters of Hope page, where you can fill out and submit a form to sign up for this listening session. You will be emailed simple instructions to phone in, or log in to a Zoom session: https://ophope.org/public-listening-session
During these uncharted times, we’re offering 30-minute listening calls with anyone who needs to talk (U.S. only). A listening call is not spiritual direction or counseling, but simple fellowship in a time of physical isolation. These calls could happen via video, email, or phone, as you prefer. This is a new idea, and we’ll have to co-create, but our sisters, associates, and co-creators are here to listen. Please visit this page to fill out an Interest form: https://ophope.org/listening-sessions/
Are you interested in helping pioneer an online community for listening, discussion, and programming? Please visit this link, and let us know what you think on the form: https://ophope.org/online-community/
Stay tuned as we increase our online offerings, and reach out to community.
