A private retreat of one or several days allows you to take some peaceful time away from everyday activities. This time can be spent in praying, reading, journaling, walking, resting, visiting our library, drawing in our creative room, and other quiet activities that restore the soul.

Summer 2021: Update on Private Retreats

We’re planning on offering private retreats on a limited basis during spring 2021. We offer the same peaceful, private guest room and shared bathrooms at the center.

We are happy to provide pre-packaged continental breakfast items (oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, and seasonal fruit) but are unable to provide our usual lunch and dinner services during your stay. We offer full “kitchen privileges,” so that you can bring your own food and beverages, store your items in our refrigerators, and use the microwave and coffeemaker as needed.

Should you choose to dine out, feel free to visit the local food venues or take advantage of the online food delivery services at your convenience, such as www.grubhub.com or www.doordash.com

Please note that you will need to adhere to local COVID-19 regulations, such as wearing a face mask. All shared areas, such as kitchens and bathrooms, are cleaned daily, and will be cleaned after use.

  • Please let us know if you have any special requests. We regret that we are unable to provide food services at this time, but there are kitchen facilities available, so that you can bring and prepare your own food.

We ask that you make a reservation for a personal retreat at least 14 days in advance of your arrival, as our guest rooms are often filled quickly by our programs.

Many of our guests come for the quiet peace of our center land. They enjoy the gardens and trails, visit the Healing Hut and Labyrinth, and enjoy the magical views of the Hudson River and valley. Some enjoy the quiet corners of our Creativity Room, and take their time to think while painting, taking photos, or drawing. You can choose to conduct your private retreat in silence, or not.

During your retreat, you can enjoy a comfortable, affordable, private guest room and three delicious, healthy meals a day, served in our dining room. After dinner you can read, sit in the Chapel, meditate, or walk. Your time is your own.

Please Note: We ask that private retreatants comply with the following before making a reservation:

  1. If you are new to the center, we ask that you please supply a reference or recommendation letter or email from a person or organization known to Mariandale. Please address this letter or email to the Registrar at Mariandale, 299 N. Highland Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562, or to info@mariandale.org
  2. Please make your reservation 14 days in advance of the desired arrival date.
