Hope Volunteer Community Application Form

Thank you for applying to join the Hope Volunteer Community at Mariandale!

As you begin your application, please note the following:

  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2026.
  • The program is an 10-month program, beginning the third week of August and ending in June of the following year; one can apply to renew their participation for a second year.
  • If accepted, you must live at the Hope Volunteer Community at the Center at Mariandale in Ossining, NY.
  • You must commit to 15-20 hours a week of service in the community.
  • You are permitted to pursue a higher education degree, as long as it is determined that your weekday and weekend availability allow you ample time for community commitments.

A completed application includes:

  • Completion of this form
  • A resume (you will have an opportunity to upload your resume in the online application).
  • Academic transcripts (you will have an opportunity to upload a transcript file in the online application).
  • Names and emails for three references: personal, professional, and spiritual.

Hope Community Volunteer Components: Community, Spirituality, Social Justice, Environmental Sustainability

Please complete the following four sections, describing your relationship to these volunteer components.
What experiences have you had of living in a community? What gifts do you bring to a community? What expectations would you have of community members? (250 words maximum)
What does spirituality mean to you? What are ways you practice your spirituality? How do you seek to grow your spiritual life? (250 words maximum)
